Analytics

How income and spending evolve over the chosen period, and the reports of closed cycles.

The Analytics tab in the bottom bar follows spending over time. The screen, titled Analysis, reads top to bottom in three blocks:

BlockContent
Income and expensesThe chart of the chosen period and its totals
ReviewsThe latest closed report, with View all for the history
CompositionWhat spending is made of, by category or by budget

The Reviews block is covered in Reviews, the Composition in Breakdown and details.

Choosing the period

The period chip, at the top of the screen, opens the Period picker:

  • Current cycle
  • Previous cycle
  • 3 months
  • This year — from the start of the budget year to the end of the current cycle
  • Custom — a Start and an End date, then Apply

Periods follow your budget cycle, not the calendar month. On opening, the screen shows the current cycle; with Premium and a history older than that cycle, it opens on This year.

Free and Premium

Without Premium, the analysis covers the current cycle, in full. The other periods carry the Premium mark: tapping one opens the offer. With Premium, any period can be chosen, past or upcoming.

If access changes while reading, the screen returns to the default period and says so: "The period was reset after access changed."

The chart

The Income and expenses block shows the totals for the whole period at the top:

  • Personal income
  • Expenses — Filtered expenses when a filter is active
  • Net — income minus expenses

With a category or budget filter, Net gives way to Share of income, and a note reads "Unfiltered personal income".

The chart draws one bar per day over a period of a month or less, one bar per cycle beyond that. Tapping a bar (or sliding a finger across the chart) shows its details; tapping elsewhere returns to the total. A period that is not over is marked "Partial period", and expenses planned but not yet due "Upcoming expenses".

Below the chart, the Income and Expenses legend entries open the list of the matching transactions, for the selected bar or the whole period.

Filtering and display

Three chips follow the period:

  • All categories — choose one or more categories, then Apply
  • All budgets — choose the budgets to keep, then Apply
  • Display — the chart options

The Display sheet offers:

OptionEffect
Expense breakdownSplits each expense bar by category or by budget
IncomeShows income (personal scope)
Set asideShows the set-aside curve (personal scope)
ComparisonOverlays the same reading over an earlier period

The comparison covers the period of the same length just before for a month or less, and the same period one year earlier beyond that. When it is not possible, the option stays greyed out: "Comparison unavailable for this period."

The eye icon, top right, is used to Hide amounts across the screen, report included.

Personal or shared

By default, the analysis is Personal. If you have shared budgets, the Display sheet also offers a Scope: Personal or Shared. The choice stays readable on the chip, for example "Display · Shared".

In Shared, the analysis counts every participant's expenses and adds:

  • Include personal budgets — turned off, only shared budgets remain ("Shared budgets" on the chip)
  • By person — splits expenses between participants
  • Debts — adds the debt history to the chart

Income is personal: in Shared, income and the Set aside curve are not shown. Debts are not available over more than 5 years: "Debts unavailable beyond 5 years."
