Getting started
First steps
The setup guide, and the order that makes the numbers right.
The home screen shows a setup guide while steps remain. It can be hidden at any time.
The five steps
| Step | Why |
|---|---|
| Create a budget | Organise the coming expenses |
| Invite someone | Optional — without a participant, no balance is computed |
| Add an expense | Start real tracking |
| Add an income | Know what is left available |
| Check your reports | See the data turn into tracking |
Income is not optional if you want the “Available” figure
The available-per-day amount at the top of the home screen is computed from the cycle's income. With no income recorded, the home screen says "No income this month" and can project nothing.
Set your cycle before anything else
The budget cycle decides which day a month starts on. It defaults to the 1st and can be set between 1 and 28 in settings.
If your salary lands on the 28th, set the cycle to the 28th: every total, grouping and forecast follows that split. See Periods and cycle.
The order that works
- Budget cycle in settings
- An income
- A budget
- The participants, if the budget is shared
- The first expenses
From there, balances compute themselves and the home screen becomes readable.
